Training & Organizational Development Director | Clipper Wind Power | Cedar Rapids, IA
SUMMARY:
This motivated individual will be responsible for the effective
development, coordination and presentation of training and development
programs for all employees. Assess developmental needs to drive training
initiatives. Identify and arrange suitable training solutions for
employees. Actively search, creatively design and implement effective
methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. The
programs would include but are not limited to quality control, work
measurement, human resources, manufacturing methods, supervisory
development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Supervising the development of training content, formulating and
reviewing training outlines to determine appropriate instructional
format.
- Evaluating and recommending internal and vendor programs, as necessary,
to meet training objectives.
- Coordinating the development of reference materials appropriate to
specific program objectives.
- Establishing uniform mechanisms for tracking and evaluating
effectiveness of compliance-related training and development programs.
- Regularly reviewing training program materials and utilizing evaluation
feedback to revise or recommend changes in instructional content or
methods, as necessary.
- Developing additional training modules and programs beyond web-based
training to drive compliance 'tone from the top' throughout the
organization.
- Monitoring yearly updates and revisions to Training Procedures &
Principles, including management of policy review processes.
- Leading the continued cultural shift to a more robust compliance
oriented environment.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree required (MA preferred), with a concentration either in
business administration, training/professional development, and/or
organizational development.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Has a working knowledge of the determinants of industry change
--legislation/regulation, technology, economic environments, competition
and consumers.
- Has a working knowledge of training products and services, e.g., adult
learning skills, curriculum development, instructional design, delivery
and evaluation.
- Is aware of industry suppliers/resources - training and development
consultants, instructional designers, project managers, and
trainers/faculty.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- 10+ years of Compliance related training and development
experience; or training / adult learning experience in a manufacturing
environment.
- Self-motivated and dynamic individual capable of championing
changes to organizational cultural.
- Strong relationship management, interpersonal and leadership
skills, including experience in dealing with senior management.
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication,
coaching and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage people and balance multiple
priorities.
- Ability to work effectively across diverse organizations while
achieving milestones and project goals.
- Computer expertise in MS Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and
Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Project and Access a plus; web-savvy.
